Se celebró en Nueva York la entrega de los International Emmy Awards. La británica Black Mirror obtuvo el Emmy a la mejor miniserie o telefilm internacional, mientras los actores argentinos Darío Grandinetti y Cristina Banegas conseguían los premios de interpretación por la serie Televisión por la Inclusión. Brasil es, junto a Reino Unido y Argentina, el país que más galardones ha obtenido: mejor serie cómica por A mulher invisível (La mujer invisible) y mejor telenovela por O Astro (El Ilusionista) producidas por Rede Globo. En la gala se homenajeó a los productores Norman Lear (All in the Family) y Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story, Glee) y al actor Alan Alda.
